The next Festival Committee meets at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17th. Monthly meetings follow through May on the 3rd Wed. of every month. Location: Conference Room (main level of Town Hall in the north wing) Anyone interested in volunteering for the festival is welcome to attend this meetings at Town Hall. The festival would not be possible without the generosity of the many Community volunteers who give countless hours to coordinate the event and activities. This committee is responsible for all the activities comprising the Dyer Summerfest, which typically includes a carnival, entertainment, food vendors, beer garden, casino games and other fun and events! For 2013, Dyer's Summerfest will be held at Pheasant Hills Park, Thursday-Sunday, June 6, 7, 8 and 9th. Highlights of the 2013 fest are: Grand Fireworks on Sunday by the Mad Bomber, Bean Bag Tournament on both Saturday and Sunday, Nightly Live Entertainment, V.F.W. Beer Garden, Midway Games, Amusement Rides and Knights of Columbus Games of Chance and More! The Amusement Rides for the carnival will offer a ride all you can bracelet at select times. Watch the schedule below for times and fees. Hours of the fest are: Wednesday, June 5......(no carnival on Wed.) Bike Parade..........6:30pm followed by Movie in the Park, featuring "THE LORAX" starting at 8:30pm Thursday, June 6......5:00-10:30pm (all you can ride wrist band special from 5-10pm for $20.00) (The Muddsharks from 6:30-10:30pm) Friday, June 7......5:00-11:00pm (Acousitcats from 7-11pm) Saturday, June 8......2:00-11:30pm (Carnival wrist band special from 2-6pm for $20.00) (Dyer Wind Ensemble 2:00-3:00pm, High Noon 3:30-6:30pm, The Relics from 7:30-11:30pm) Sunday, June 9......1:00-10:00pm (Carnival wrist band special time from 1-5pm for $20.00) (Last Blast Carnival wrist band special from 6-9pm for $15.00) Grand Fireworks Display at 9:00pm. (Sound Connection DJ 1-3pm, New Element 4:00-8:00pm) Bean Bag Tournament on Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Entry fee of $20 per two person team. Donation letters will also be sent to Dyer mailing addresses in your monthly utility bill in the spring. All donations are greatly appreciated and help offset the costs of putting on a large scale community special event. Donations can also be mailed to: Dyer Summerfest, PO Box 571, Dyer IN 46311.
