  Town of Dyer - Commissions
Commissions (Town of Dyer)

The Town of Dyer has three Commissions. The Police Commission is responsible for appointing the Chief of Police and all employees necessary for conducting the work of the department. It also enforces the code of conduct of the police department, providing disciplinary action when appropriate.

The Plan Commission approves development that occurs in town. It also recommends to the Town Council changes to the zoning ordinance, comprehensive plan, and subdivision control ordinance.

The Redevelopment Commission controls development in Dyer's special use district. It also oversees major development projects in town, including the expansion of Calumet Avenue and recent construction of the Emergency Services building.
