| | | | Jeff Dekker, Member (R) Current Term: January 1, 2011- December 31, 2014 Represents: Ward 2 Jeff Dekker (R) is also serving his first term on the Dyer Town Council. He is pleased to have been elected to serve for the term 2011-2014. He is looking forward to meeting many more of the citizens of Dyer and is happy to share a little bit about himself. He has been married to his wife, JoAnn, for over 31 years; their youngest daughter with her husband and four children live in South Bend, they see a little less of them than they do the other two daughters whose families live here in Dyer. They are married and each has three children. Jeff cannot describe how much him and his wife enjoy watching their grandchildren grow and learn and play; they are a blessing of God and create in him and his wife a desire to contribute toward a safe, healthy environment. JoAnn and Jeff enjoy all types of outdoor activities, they ski, hike, and kayak. They like their share of motorized hobbies as well; they snowmobile, motorcycle, and do some boating. When they must be confined indoors they are not afraid of home projects and enjoy cooking together. They are both active members of their Church, New Hope Church in Lansing, IL. Jeff has a tendency to be a leader, organizer, and planner; he has used these abilities in the various businesses that he has been involved in over the years. He is presently employed at Professional Building Services as Senior Project Manager. He coordinates the project activities such as budget, schedules, contracts etc. of commercial, industrial, and institutional construction projects. The glut of vacancies in real estate at present causes some contraction of construction activities allowing him more time for marketing of building services. He is proud of his involvement over the years in the construction of many buildings where many people now live and work, worship, and conduct business. He is eager to serve on the council in the town he has lived in for much of his life. Jeff would like to thank you for entrusting him with this important job. | | | | | | | | Mary Tanis, Member (R) Current Term: January 1, 2011- December 31, 2014 Represents: Ward 4 Mary Tanis (R) is serving her first term on the Dyer Town Council from January 1st, 2011 to December 31st, 2014.
